Kenny Albert: Gaborik Deal Made Big Changes To Rangers' Makeup
PITTSBURGH (93-7 The Fan) -- New York Rangers radio play-by-play man and four-sport broadcaster Kenny Albert joined The Fan Morning Show today to help the guys preview tonight's Penguins vs. Rangers match-up.
He admitted it was tough to see the team ship off the popular Marian Gaborik to Columbus at the trade deadline.
"He was a well-liked guy, sorry to see him go," Albert said. "You know, it's funny, when the trade was made, I'm walking around the concourse at the Garden before the game on Wednesday, and I would say about 80 percent of the fans that I ran into were not happy with the trade."
However, he explained that even though Gaborik was a great player, this deal might help the Rangers a lot, because it brings back a lot of the depth and grit the club lost when it dealt Rick Nash to Columbus.
"It's a much different Ranger team if you look at their roster two weeks ago to today," Albert said.
