Kennedy Returns To Practice
PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) — Penguins forward Tyler Kennedy returned to practice Wednesday, as he was cleared for non-contact practice as he recovers from a concussion.
Kennedy said he's not specifically sure when he suffered the concussion, but he started getting headaches and the training staff evaulated him and deemed he had a concussion. Kennedy has been out since Oct. 15.
"It was a series of things," Kennedy said, according to the Penguins official website. "I'm not really sure what happened. I was starting to get symptoms. I told the training staff and they took care of it. They said they made the right steps and said I had a concussion. I'm not really sure when it happened. There were a couple things that could have lead up to it. "
Kennedy said after Wednesday's practice that he's been symptom-free for 5-7 days and he'll take it day-to-day as far as initiating contact. As far as gauging his recovery, Kennedy said Penguins captain Sidney Crosby -- who has been out nearly 10 months with a concussion -- has lent him some advice.
"Sid's like a doctor when it comes to concussions right now," Kennedy said. "It's nice to talk to him, open up to him. He's got some great insight."
