Kaboly: Not a Character Issue With Pouncey
PITTSBURGH (KDKA 93-7 The Fan)- Steelers center Maurkice Pouncey was photographed over the weekend wearing a hat supporting Aaron Hernandez, the former Patriot who is accused of murder. Pouncey was a teammate of Hernandez at the University of Florida. Colin Dunlap asked Mark Kaboly of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review discussed if this was a lapse of judgment or a character issue.
"I don't think it's a character issue," Kaboly said. "I think a lot of it is just him being very immature and having a lack of judgment." Kaboly added that Pouncey needed to recognize his surroundings and circumstances.
Training Camp will begin for the Steelers in less than two weeks. Dunlap asked how important second-year guard David DeCastro will be, but Kaboly pointed to the offensive line as a unit being important this year.
"Actually, I think all five of their offensive linemen are huge because if you look at any of their backups, your probably first question is "who?'" Kaboly added that depth is an issue across the team, but especially on the offensive line.
