Juvenile To Face Charges In Beltzhoover Crash
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Cars were totaled, a home was damaged and power was out for several homes in Beltzhoover Thursday after an out-of-control Lincoln Navigator sped through the neighborhood this morning.
The driver took off after the crash, and now neighbors are left to clean up the mess.
The accident knocked power out on Climax Street for about three blocks. Duquesne Light worked all day to restore electricity.
While there was plenty of damage, a utility line snapped, power lines down and damage to the house cars crashed into, but no one was injured.
"It's crazy, cause it was two parked cars. In order to knock two parked cars, two houses down, you had to be going pretty fast," said Marc Peagler, who lives near the scene.
Peagler had been repairing one of the totaled cars. He says if it had happen a little bit later, he'd have been right in the middle of it.
"I'd a been parked in my red car. Then, who knows what would of happened. It could of been totaled," Peagler said.
Dawn Brown came home from work to find remnants of the chaos.
"I'm rather shocked. I just got off work and I can't get through, and then I see all of this going on, didn't know what happened," said Brown.
Pittsburgh Police are investigating. They say charges are pending against a juvenile who was reportedly driving his parent's SUV when the crash happened.
