Jury Sees Surveillance Video As Trial Continues For Rape Suspect
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- There are new details in the trial of a man accused of raping women in two different counties.
In court on Thursday, surveillance video is introduced that the prosecution says links the suspect to the crimes.
The surveillance video from the hallway that leads to a Citizens Bank ATM in Manchester was shown to the jury from Jan. 7, 2012.
Investigators say it shows Arthur Henderson; although, they admit they can't see his face in the video.
But police say he tried to use three credit cards from a victim he had just raped in Ross Township.
He tried two withdrawals worth $300 on one card which was rejected. Two attempts on a second card worth $160 that was also rejected.
There was an unsuccessful attempt worth $500 on a third card, but $200 on that third card was later withdrawn successfully. The ATM kept the card and prosecutors now have it as evidence.
He then left in a blue SUV. The same SUV police say was traced along McKnight Road.
It was also captured in surveillance video at the garage of the Rivers Casino a few days later.
Investigators say Henderson drove around the garage for a half hour before following a woman to her Beaver County home. She was raped.
The case has been unique with the defendant serving as his own lawyer, cross examining victims and other witnesses.
On Friday, Henderson will be confronted with DNA evidence before the prosecution rests its case.
