Juror Faints During Kennedy Twp. Shooting Trial
PITTSBURGH (AP) — The trial for three young men charged with fatally shooting a western Pennsylvania college student during a drug-related robbery ended abruptly when one juror fainted because of a bloody crime scene photo and another remembered knowing one defendant's relative.
An Allegheny County judge ordered attorneys to pick a new jury Wednesday to hear the charges against 24-year-old Devele Reid, 19-year-old Brandon Lind, and 17-year-old Jon Lee.
They're accused of conspiring to kill 20-year-old Slippery Rock University student Jordan Coyner.
Prosecutors say Coyner was killed when the defendants went to his Kennedy Township home to steal cash and marijuana Coyner was selling.
The juror fainted Tuesday after seeing a photo showing drops of blood on a linoleum floor.
As paramedics removed her, another juror told the judge's staff she knew the uncle of one of the defendants.
