Josh Yohe: There May Be A Confidence Issue With Crosby
PITTSBURGH (KDKA 93-7 The Fan)- The Penguins take a 3-2 series lead over the Blue Jackets into Game 6 Monday in Columbus. Sidney Crosby has not scored a goal in the series, and Josh Yohe of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review told Tab Douglas and Stacy Kauffman that it could be a confidence issue.
"I think maybe there's just a confidence issue with him right now and it's crazy to think that the best player in the world could be having confidence issues," Yohe said. "But, there were so many times when he's had good opportunities to shoot and he's deferring to other players, and trying high-risk passes instead of just shooting the puck."
Fans have complained that coach Dan Bylsma has not made enough adjustments in the series. But, Yohe said that Bylsma made a key adjustment by putting Crosby and Evgeni Malkin together on the same line.
"That was a pretty big one, because Crosby and Malkin did not play together for a game this entire regular season. For him to put those two together in the playoffs was a pretty striking statement," Yohe said.
Yohe added that even though they didn't score even strength, there's something to be said for the way they controlled the puck.
