Joe Rossi On The UPMC High School Football Show
PITTSBURGH (93-7 The Fan) - South Fayette head football coach Joe Rossi joined 93.7 The Fan's John Phillips on "The UPMC High School Football Show" Saturday to break down the Lions' exciting 23-20 defeat of visiting Steel Valley in their Class AA Century Conference opener Friday.
Rossi, whose team advanced to 2-1 overall, looks back on his team's game-winning drive late in the fourth quarter, and talks about the leadership of new starting quarterback John Lerda, who took over for outgoing senior Christian Brumbaugh, one of the most successful QB's in WPIAL history. He also gives his perspective on why the district champs remain competitive despite having graduated several key players.
In addition, Rossi talks about the impact of two-way star and co-captain Trevor Fiorentini, and explains why he's trying not to get caught looking ahead to the team's highly-anticipated meeting with Seton-LaSalle next month...
