Jitney Driver Accused Of Sexual Assault In Court
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- The jitney driver accused of threatening and sexually assaulting one of his passengers last month in the Hill District was in court this morning for a preliminary hearing.
The suspect, Eric Pace, is facing a list of charges - including rape, sexual assault, aggravated indecent assault, simple assault, terroristic threats and unlawful restraint.
According to police, the victim and her sister had been in a bar in the early morning hours of May 21.
Investigators say after leaving the lounge, the victim approached the jitney stand and got into the suspect's SUV. But after driving a few blocks, he stopped, and then allegedly threatened and assaulted her.
A Carnegie Mellon University Police officer eventually spotted the SUV in North Oakland.
Pace was held for court on all charges.
