Jim Gaffigan Shares Laughs, Dad Stories
PITTSBURGH (NewsRadio 1020 KDKA) - Fathers' Day is just around the corner, and KDKA-AM's Larry and John are talking to famous dad's to get ready. Their first famous dad is comedian Jim Gaffigan, whose new book, "Dad Is Fat," takes a comedic look at being a dad.
"'Dad Is Fat' comes from the first sentence that my son wrote, when he was five, on a dry erase board," says Gaffigan. "He showed it to me, and then I put him up for adoption."
His book is about parenting and his thoughts about fatherhood, and he says the joys of being a father is the unpredictability of kids.
"That's the fun part of parenting- they change all the time, and you're never certain how they're going to behave," Gaffigan said.
Besides being a great father and comedian, Gaffigan has a Pittsburgh connection.
"I did some commercials for the Pittsburgh Pirates a million years ago where I played the superfan," says Gaffigan. "And I've performed in that theater that is named after the best ketchup in the world."
