Jerome Lane Breaks Down Pitt's Chances In NCAA Tournament

PITTSBURGH (93-7 THE FAN) -- Former Pitt Basketball star Jerome Lane joined Seibel, Starkey, and Miller on 93-7 The FAN to discuss Pitt's chances in the NCAA Tournament this year, as well as to discuss his college playing days.

Jerome said this years Pitt team is not better than the 2009 team that had DeJuan Blair and Sam Young, and although they play great defense, they don't have any scorers outside of Ashton Gibbs.

One main problem Jerome sees with this team is that all their games will have to stay close because they can't pull away, and they don't have the type of offense to come back if they get down big, so they have to play a style that keeps games close, and when you keep it close in the NCAA Tournament, anything can happen.

Jerome weighed in on the Barry Goheen play when Pitt played Vanderbilt in 1988 and his thoughts on Pitt Head Coach Paul Evans.

We wrapped things up with Jerome by asking him what he did with the rim he broke off the shattered backboard.
