Jeremy Roenick: Crosby Can't Limit Himself
PITTSBURGH (93-7 The Fan) – NHL on NBC analyst Jeremy Roenick joined "The Fan Morning Show" on Tuesday to help the guys preview Game 7 between the Penguins and Rangers tonight.
He told the guys that it has become tougher for the Penguins to knock off the Rangers now that New York has rallied behind Martin St. Louis following the death of his mother.
"It's really hard to beat a team that's emotionally-bonded and is really working hard," Roenick said. "I think that's what the Rangers seem to be kind rolling on right now. I still think that Pittsburgh has the advantage, being at home and being the team that they are, but the Rangers, they're on a mission right now."
Roenick explained that Sidney Crosby's talent can let him do just about anything, but he can't let his energy and focus get diverted away from making that happen.
"He's allowing the other team to get under his skin," Roenick said. "It really takes your mind off of you being at your best. When you get in his head, and all of a sudden the guy who's stopping him is himself, then you know you have him beat."
As for Marc-Andre Fleury, Roenick feels that if Fleury can play to 90 percent of his ability, the Penguins will move on.
