Jamie Dixon Happy With Move To ACC
PITTSBURGH (SportsRadio 93-7 The FAN) -- Pitt Men's Basketball Head Coach Jamie Dixon joined Joe Starkey and Josh Miller of Seibel, Starkey and Miller to talk about the school's move to the ACC.
Dixon responded to the critics saying that the Pitt program will suffer leaving the Big East saying that they will still recruit in the same areas that they have in the past including New York, and that once everything settles with conference realignment, there is a good chance there won't be as much of a change in who they play as it looks like right now.
The team's focus has always been on getting the best caliber of athlete and student that fits in this program regardless of where they are from, and hasn't focused on just one region because talent dries up in areas at times, and they don't want to be dependent on just the talent in specific cities, so switching conferences won't hurt their recruiting.
The Big East has always been known as a physical conference, and Dixon addressed the change in style of play and how they'll adjust to it if at all.
We wrapped things up with Dixon getting his thoughts on going up against Duke and North Carolina.
