Iowa State Offensive Coordinator Mark Mangino With Colin Dunlap
PITTSBURGH (93.7 THE FAN) -- Iowa State offensive coordinator Mark Mangino joined Colin Monday evening and the former head football coach at the University of Kansas told Dunlap that his familiarity with the Big 12 conference and football teams coached by current ISU head football coach Paul Rhoads are what helped him make his decision.
"Teams at Iowa State are always well prepared, hard nosed kids. He (Rhoads) has great structure, discipline and organization in this program," Mangino told Colin and the guys discussed the process that took place as ISU attempted to hire Mangino from his position at Youngstown State.
The two also talked about the changes to offenses across college football and if those changes have taken offenses away from the traditional power and leverage foundations.
Mangino told Dunlap, "The game is still about angles and leverage and aiming points, no matter what your style is you have to be a hard nosed physical style player."
