Investigators Work To Determine Cause Of Fatal Turnpike Bus Crash
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Investigators are still trying to determine what caused a tour bus to travel off of the Turnpike, ending in a fatal crash.
Police say an autopsy was not performed on Seton Hill lacrosse coach Kristina Quigley, because she and her unborn son had obviously died as a result of blunt force trauma.
The bus driver, 61-year-old Anthony Guaetta of Johnstown, was also determined to have died of blunt force trauma. His autopsy shows that Guaetta did not experience a medical emergency in the moments before the crash.
Investigators are also looking into whether Guaetta had possibly fallen asleep at the wheel. However, they say it will still be several weeks before they pin down the exact cause of the crash.
Sunday night, it was estimated that 600 people showed up at a mass at the university to remember Quigley. About 4,500 people have also joined a Facebook page called "Play for Seton Hill," for which teams across the country are wearing crimson and gold ribbons in honor of the lacrosse team.
Quigley's unborn – whom she was about six months pregnant with – was to be named Jackson.
