Investigators Reenact Last Month's Shooting On South Side
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Pittsburgh homicide detectives and investigators from the Allegheny County District Attorney's office Tuesday night were on Carson Street investigating last month's shooting.
They were on the city's South Side, for a preliminary reenactment of a police pursuit last month that ended in five off-duty officers firing into a moving vehicle and wounding a man and woman.
Several blocks, between 17th and 13th streets were temporarily closed off to most vehicular traffic, as detectives photographed the area and took measurements.
Bruce Campbell, representing the Fraternal Order of Police union, told KDKA TV, "what investigators needed and didn't have, was the exact location of where the officers were the night of the incident."
All but one of the five officers involved in the shooting was on hand tonight to describe exactly where they fired the shots and what was happening at the time.
The police pursuit that ended on Carson Street began in Homestead, where a car ran a red light.
