Injury Report: Farrior, Harrison & Woodley Practicing
PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) — Injured starting linebackers James Farrior (calf), James Harrison (eye) and Lamarr Woodley (hamstring) all practiced Thursday and all said they're feeling better.
None, however, know their status for Sunday night's game against Baltimore at Heinz Field. As the Steelers prepare for a key AFC North match up, the three injured linebackers attempt to get healthy enough to take part.
Farrior said he tweaked his calf during the Steelers Week 7 game at Arizona but continued to practice on it last week in preparation for the Patriots and made it worse. He said it's a pulled muscle and there's no tear.
He also said he won't be out a month, which has been reported by multiple outlets. On Monday, 93-7 The Fan's Steelers insider Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported Farrior could be out until December with a torn calf.
After practice, Farrior said he pushed himself "pretty hard."
Harrison said he's feeling good but his status for Sunday night depends on what doctors say when he gets reevaluated. He suffered a broken orbital bone at Houston in Week 3, and if there's any chance his vision could be jeopardized he won't play.
"I hope so, but that's up to the doctors to clear me for game play," Harrison said. "If they say I can go, I'll be out there. If not, then I'll wait another week."
Harrison added that he hasn't had contact since returning to practice and he doesn't expect to be cleared for that type of action this week. He tweeted earlier in the week that he won't be cleared to play on Sunday.
ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that Woodley is not expected to play Sunday night. Woodley injured his hamstring in the second half last Sunday against New England and did not return. Early reports stated Woodley could be out until after the Steelers Nov. 20 bye week.
All three linebackers have been limited in practice.
Other injury news:
- Wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders is unlikely to play Sunday. His mother's funeral is scheduled for Saturday.
- Guard Doug Legursky (toe) was the only player held out of Thursday's practice aside from Sanders.
- Wide receiver Hines Ward (ankle) and tackle Jonathan Scott (ankle) participated in limited roles in Thursday's practice.
- Linebacker Jason Worilds (quad) returned to full participation in practice.
