Indiana Co. Man Facing Charges After Allegedly Assaulting Police
INDIANA COUNTY (KDKA) -- An Indiana County man is behind bars after assaulting two police officers.
The man, 30-year-old James Ankney, faces aggravated assault, resisting arrest, DUI and related charges.
Police say Ankney was arguing with his girlfriend Saturday night at the Twolick Boat Launch.
A security guard called police when the argument because heated.
The guard approached Ankney, but Ankney wasn't having it.
He and the girlfriend got in a truck, threw some beer cans out the window and took off. They make donuts in the parking lot as they left.
The guard got Ankney's license plate number and gave it to police.
Police then went to Ankney's house to check on his girlfriend's well being.
Ankney arrived at the house after police.
He became aggressive when they asked to do a field sobriety test.
Ankney shoved a female trooper and punched a male trooper in the face.
The male trooper's glasses were knocked off and his face was scratched.
That same trooper used a Taser when taking Ankney into custody.
They found his girlfriend hiding under a blanket in the house.
The altercation was caught on dash cam video that will likely be used at a preliminary hearing.
