Hours-Long Homewood Standoff Ends, Suspect Still Sought

HOMEWOOD (KDKA) – A standoff in Pittsburgh's Homewood neighborhood came to an end Tuesday afternoon without the suspect being apprehended.
According to officials, the incident started around 6:45 a.m. in the 7300 block of Stranahan Street. It came to an end around 1 p.m.
The SWAT team and Pittsburgh Police fired more than 30 flash bangs in the front and back of the house.
Police were looking for a suspect they say had a handgun and was allegedly going inside several houses. That suspect has been identified as 31-year-old Reco Hall. While he wasn't inside the home, police did find two guns.
"This was the result of a domestic violence incident," said Cmdr. Reyne Kacsuta, of Pittsburgh Police. "The suspect, Reco Hall, assaulted a child. He has a history that is violent, that includes other domestic violence incidents. He was recently released from prison. We deployed OC gas into the structure."
Police say they were treating the incident as "an armed barricade situation."
The flash bangs created a lot of smoke, which drifted into adjacent homes and caused some problems for those who were not evacuated.
Several people were escorted out of nearby houses, including several babies who reportedly could not breathe. Several measures were used to find the suspect, including dogs and robots in addition to the flash bangs.
Hall is still on the run and there is a warrant out for his arrest for a parole violation.
