Homicide Trial Ordered for Mount Pleasant Cold Case
Police say a man accused in the death of an acquaintance nearly two decades ago has been haunted since the day the teen died.
Forty-two-year-old Robert Daniels was ordered Thursday to stand trial in the death of 18-year-old Curtis Eutsey.
Two men discovered Eutsey's remains in March in a ravine in Mount Pleasant. Eutsey had been missing since the early 90s.
Investigators say Daniels admitted he and a cousin plotted to lure Eutsey to a wooded area and kill him. Police say Daniels told them his cousin pulled the trigger and Eutsey begged Daniels for help after being shot.
Defense attorney Dante Bertani says police may have tricked Daniels during interviews.
Daniels' cousin has not been arrested. Police say the investigation is continuing.
