Domino's Pizza Delivery Driver Robbed In Homewood
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - Pittsburgh police are looking for three men who carjacked a pizza delivery driver.
The 22-year-old driver works for Domino's Pizza on Sheridan Avenue in Homewood. He told police he was called to the 7000-block of Mt. Vernon Street Thursday night for an order.
When he arrived, he got out of his car and left the keys on the seat.
As he walked to the house he saw two teens sitting on the steps. A third teen walked towards him and reached into his pocket as if to pay for the pizza, but instead he pulled out a gun and held the driver up, before driving off in his car.
The other two men grabbed the food and ran.
Police later found the delivery man's car at Gerritt Street and Fielding Way.
The suspects were believed to be teenagers between the ages of 16 and 18.
Residents in the area are concerned because of the number of children in the area. Several neighbors told KDKA that it's hard enough to get pizza shops to deliver to the neighborhood these days. They say it's a shame, but it's hard to blame the shops.
"They shouldn't be able to be scared to go no where because they're scared of getting robbed," said Homewood resident Teje Hairston.
