Holmes: Polamalu Is "Greatest I've Ever Played With"
FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (KDKA/AP) — Former Steeler and current New York Jets wide receiver Santonio Holmes has lots of respect for former teammate Troy Polamalu.
Holmes called the Steelers safety the "greatest player" he has ever played with or seen play in person.
Though Polamalu might not have the stats and numbers to prove he is the best player on the field, just his presence there disrupts opponents and causes fits for offenses.
Polamalu has 63 tackles, seven interceptions, one forced fumble and one sack this season.
The fumble and sack Polamalu recorded changed the season for the Steelers. It was against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 13, the Steelers won that game and moved into first place in the AFC North and the No. 2 seed in the playoffs.
The last time the Steelers and Jets played at Heinz field was back in Week 15. Polamalu sat out that game with a right Achilles' tendon injury. This time, Polamalu will be starting and everyone including Holmes will have to keep their eye on the Steelers' MVP.
