Holiday Shopping Brings Free Parking

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Holiday shopping can bring many headaches, but luckily Pittsburgh shoppers won't have to get one over parking.

All nine Parking Authority garages downtown are free on Saturdays through the weekend before Christmas.

It's expected to give a boost to the shopping, dining and cultural scene downtown.

Additionally, on-street parking is also free today for "Small Business Saturday."

Pittsburgh Councilman William Peduto introduced legislation to suspend meter enforcement for the shopping day.
