Hit & Run Victim's Sister Makes Plea For Suspect To Come Forward
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- A hit-and-run victim remains hospitalized while police continue to search for the person responsible.
Meanwhile, the victim's sister is outraged and desperate for someone who saw what happened in Larimer that day to come forward with information.
Celeste Taylor says she and her brother, Marlon, were close growing up.
He has had some bumps in his adult life, but nothing like what happened a little over a week ago when he was struck by a hit-and-run driver.
"They left him there like a dog, you wouldn't even want an animal, a deer, any live animal, to be left by the side of the road," said Celeste.
But police, even an eyewitness say that's exactly what happened to 55-year-old Marlon Taylor. They've been looking for a Jeep Grand Cherokee, which may have front end damage, ever since.
"It makes me really sad, it makes me angry that they didn't stop knowing full well they hit another person and they didn't stop," Celeste said.
She says her brother's injuries have been significant, and he doesn't even know yet that he was the victim of a hit-and-run accident. The family is waiting until he's stronger to tell him.
"His legs are broken; his neck is messed up," she said. "He might lose his right eye and he still has to regain some memory."
And then there's his artwork. His sister hopes the accident doesn't take away his ability to create art.
"He's fighting hard for his life, and turning yourself in is the right thing to do," Celeste says.
Police say witnesses were a big factor in identifying the car in the case, and they're asking for the public's help this time to identify the driver of the car.
