Hines Ward Welcomes Biracial Korean Children
Eight lucky Korean children met Hines Ward at the Pittsburgh International Airport as a part of the Steelers wide receiver's fifth annual program benefiting biracial Korean children. The Hines Ward Helping Hands Korea Foundation will send the children to New York City to teach them about United States history and culture.
Ward is a symbol of success for biracial Koreans, who are typically discriminated against in Korean culture. He hopes to inspire biracial children throughout Korea to achieve great things.
The eight children visiting Pittsburgh were selected through an essay contest held by Pearl S. Buck International. Ward hopes the children return to Korea and pursue their dreams.
