Hiker Flown To Hospital After Falling Into Slippery Rock Creek At McConnells Mills
PORTERSVILLE, Pa. (KDKA) - A young woman was rescued after falling into Slippery Rock Creek while hiking at McConnells Mills on Memorial Day.
The hiker fell into the creek at Kildoo Falls, which is near the covered bridge where a hiker disappeared earlier this month.
The hiker fell about 20 feet onto the rocks below.
The park's manager says rangers and first responders extracted the young woman from the area.
She was flown to a Pittsburgh-area hospital for leg and head injuries, the park manager says.
McConnells Mills is a state park in Lawrence County about 40 miles north of Pittsburgh.
