High-Speed Chase Suspect Appears In Court
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - A suspect in a high-speed chase admitted to his involvement and said he was assaulted after it ended.
Anthony Gutierrez and another woman stole a sweatshirt from Walmart in South Strabane Township. They then led police on a chase through Washington County and into Allegheny County.
It ended when Gutierrez crashed into a fence in Carnegie.
"I think it was unnecessary that I was treated like that. That I'd be hit in the mouth after I was already handcuffed. Yes, I was on a high-speed chase, but that was unnecessary," Gutierrez said.
On Tuesday, Gutierrez's aggravated assault charges were reduced from three counts to just one.
He is also facing two additional counts of recklessly endangering another person.
