Hempfield Township Teen's Tornado Video Goes Viral
HEMPFIELD TOWNSHIP (KDKA) -- A local teenager has become an internet sensation.
Tyler Tubbs, 15, of Hempfield Township, used his iPod Touch to record video of the tornado as it approached his backyard.
His frenetic commentary has been heard around the world. Tubbs, a freshman at Hempfield High School, told KDKA-TV the storm was an opportunity of a lifetime.
His recording was briefly interrupted by a phone call from his mother.
"Yeah, she wanted me to get in the house, but I was like, 'No, I'm getting this on tape dude,'" he said.
Tubbs says he wants to become a storm chaser, but for now, he's enjoying his newfound fame.
