Heavy Rains Cause Flooding On Local Roads
HOMEWOOD (KDKA) - Heavy rains caused flash flooding on some local roads and one man needed to be rescued from his car Monday night.
North Braddock Avenue flooded and a man became trapped in the rising waters in his rental car. Emergency crews were able to get him out safely.
On Tuesday, sawhorses and police tape were put in place to close off the flooded section of the road. However, they did not stop some people from driving through the water.
KDKA-TV's Ross Guidotti observed an SUV drive around the sawhorses, through the police tape and then through the standing water.
Commercial Street in Swisshelm Park was also completely covered in water Monday night.
There were reports of a couple basements being flooded in the area as well.
