2 Ambridge Murder Suspects To Stand Trial
AMBRIDGE(KDKA) - Two men charged with shooting and killing a 19-year-old pregnant woman and her unborn child in Beaver County will both stand trial for murder.
When a Beaver County Court judge ruled that 31-year-old Tyrone Fuller and 27-year-old Marlin Kelly would stand trial, Conekeia "Coco" Finney's family broke out in applauds and thank yous.
Finney was shot once in the chest at close range while standing at her apartment door in Ambridge last October.
Police say they believe Finney's boyfriend may have been the target because he allegedly had been stepping on Fuller's drug business, and he and Kelly had gone looking for him.
Two people testified during the court proceedings Thursday.
Finney's mother said she heard a loud noise as she waited outside her daughter's apartment building to take her to dinner.
Elaine Finney also said she saw two people running out of the apartment but did not see their faces.
A second witness, a 25-year-old man, admitted that he is a heroin addict and claimed that Fuller and Kelley were his dealers.
He also testified he drove Kelly and Fuller to the apartment the victim shared with her boyfriend.
Both Kelly and Fuller remain in jail.
They are facing homicide charges, including charges for killing the unborn baby.
