Health Department, Whole Foods Issue Cheese Recall
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- The Allegheny County Health Department and Whole Foods Market have issued a recall for some cheese over listeria concerns.
According to the Health Department, the Jean Perrin Edel de Cleron cheese was sold in the Whole Foods store in East Liberty between May 20 and July 3 of this year.
One illness has been reported, health officials said.
Officials say the recalled cheese was cut and packaged in clear plastic wrap with a Whole Foods Market label and has the a code beginning with the numbers 293351.
Anyone who has the recalled product can contact the Allegheny County Health Department or dispose of the item.
Full refunds are being given at the store.
Meanwhile, anyone who has eaten the recalled cheese and thinks they may be developing symptoms should contact their doctor.
Symptoms of listeria include fever, muscle aches, diarrhea and other gastrointestinal symptoms.
