Guns, Ammunition Stolen In Pitcairn Burglary Spree
PITCAIRN (KDKA) -- Police are investigating a rash of break-ins in Pitcairn.
Allegheny County Police are calling it a burglary spree.
It started in Pitcairn on Sunday and then there were three more late Tuesday night and early Wednesday morning.
Sources close to the investigation believe all of the incidents are connected.
The most recent crime happened at the Pitcairn Mini Mart Wednesday morning. The culprits smashed a back window and grabbed whatever they could inside the store.
"Lottery and the money and my grocery and plus my cigarette," Mohammed Naveed, owner of the market, said. "Everything is messed up."
The surveillance cameras didn't show anything, according to Naveed.
Tuesday night, someone also stole jewelry and other items from a home on McGinnis Avenue and guns from a resident on Sixth Street – just two doors down from the police station.
On Sunday, someone made off with a gun and armor-piercing bullets from an apartment on Second Street. Police believe there is a link and now have to track down who's responsible.
