Greta Van Fleet bringing tour to Pittsburgh
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Greta Van Fleet is coming to Pittsburgh after adding a dozen new shows to their world tour.
The Grammy-winning rock band will be at PPG Paints Arena on May 18 joined by Geese.
The 2024 leg of their Starcatcher World Tour will kick off in St. Louis on April 27 and wrap up in Milwaukee on May 21 with Pittsburgh as the third-to-last date. They'll also hit up cities like Lincoln, Austin, Louisville and Grand Rapids.
The band just wrapped up a series of North American dates, headlining sold-out arena shows. The tour will soon embark on its European run, starting Nov. 6 in Hamburg, including stops in Paris, London, Barcelona and Lisbon.
The tour comes on the heels of the band's third studio album, also titled "Starcatcher."
Lead singer John Kiszka describes the album as "a dangerous and delightful expedition into a both violent and gentle dreamlike landscape. A purgatory of duality where brutality and beauty clash like a thunderstorm of stillness. Neither fact nor fiction inhabit the far reaches of this surrealist world. A storybook for the fighters and lovers alike Starcatcher captures a certain wonder on the fringe of mayhem."
Greta Van Fleet was formed by three brothers -- vocalist Josh Kiszka, guitarist Jake Kiszka and bassist/keyboardist Sam Kiszka -- and drummer Danny Wagner in Frankenmuth, Michigan. They've sold over 3.5 million records worldwide and their "From the Fires" EP won Best Rock Album at the Grammys in 2019.
The last time the band was in Pittsburgh was to open for Metallica at PNC Park.
