Greg Brown Discusses Most Important Series Of Season For Bucs
PITTSBURGH (93-7 THE FAN) – Pirates' broadcaster Greg Brown stopped by for his weekly visit on the Starkey and Mueller Show. They opened by chatting about Charlie Morton's performance in Monday night's 2-0 loss.
When asked if that was as dominant as Morton has been, Brown said that it was when you consider, "going up against Adam Wainwright, in St. Louis, in an important series, and against a very formidable lineup."
Brown added, "For me, it was the best he's been as a Pirate."
Chris asked how the team will react to the tough loss and Greg thinks they will recover quickly.
"It's a little frustrating, but they will absolutely shower well and they seem fine," he said.
Brown thinks that this is the most important series of the season.
"You'll say it was big no matter what happens the rest of the way," he said.
However, with that being said, Brown thinks they can recover even if the series does not go as planned.
Chris asks if there is potential for a blockbuster deal similar to the one made by the Athletics and Cubs. Brown talks about the pieces that the Pirates would have to give up in order to make a move like that and he doesn't feel it is worth it.
