Greensburg Police Make 1 Arrest, Issue Second Warrant In Sheetz Robbery
GREENSBURG (KDKA) -- Greensburg Police say they have made one arrest and issued a second warrant in connection with a robbery at the Sheetz on Harvey Avenue.
According to police, Jerome Garrett is in custody. He is facing robbery charges and other offenses.
An arrest warrant has been issued for a second suspect identified as Tywone McClain. He is also facing robbery charges and is known to frequent the New Kensington area.
Police say he is also known to carry firearms.
Investigators say four individuals walked into the Sheetz around 6:15 p.m. Thursday. Two of them -- McClain and Garret -- allegedly went up to the counter.
McClain allegedly told the clerk, "I need you to do me a favor. I need all the 20s and 10s" and "I'm loaded and I'll hurt you if I have to."
They were seen with two other males who police say have been identified, but are not being charged at this time.
Police were able to catch Garret after they put his picture on Facebook and the calls started coming in. With his picture on social media, Garret showed up at the Greensburg Police station and turned himself in.
McClain, however, remains on the run tonight and given his and Garret's criminal history, he should be considered armed and dangerous.
Police are asking anyone with information where McClain is to call them at 724-834-3800.
