North Side Graffiti Vandals Face Fine
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Police arrested three graffiti vandals over the weekend.
Police received a call around 5 p.m. Saturday saying that three men had put spray paint cans into their backpacks.
The suspects are accused of spray painting a walkway between Howard and East streets on the North Side.
Police also seized 136 cans of spray paint, three one-gallon cans of paint and other equipment.
"They saw that there was some recent tagging," Pittsburgh Police Sgt. Christina Davison said. "… They could smell paint in the air."
Police say the men will face a significant fine, because they tagged public property.
The bureau's graffiti force is looking to see if the suspects are linked to tagging in other parts of the city.
