Governor Wolf To Declare Juneteenth A Holiday In Pennsylvania
PENNSYLVANIA (CBS) – The nation is commemorating the end of slavery in the U.S. On Wednesday, Governor Tom Wolf is set to officially declare Juneteenth a holiday in Pennsylvania.
On June 19, 1865 slavery legally came to an end nationwide.
Thousands will celebrate Juneteenth at festivals and events across the state.
Pittsburgh is holding its Juneteenth festival on June 29, and 30 at Point State Park.
