Gov. Corbett Talks Sports With Colin Dunlap
PITTSBURGH (93.7 THE FAN) - Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Corbett is in the middle of his reelection campaign, but that doesn't stop him from enjoying live sporting events across the state.
Corbett joined Colin Dunlap on 93.7 The Fan Tuesday night and before the Governor took in the Penguins and Capitals game at Consol Energy Center, he discussed his love of sports with Colin.
Colin asked Gov. Corbett about the impact Mario Lemieux played in keeping the Penguins in Pittsburgh and if Gov. Corbett believes that without Lemieux, the team would've ended up somewhere else.
Gov. Corbett told Colin, "I watched the Civic Arena being built, watched the Penguins come into existence, it is great but, you're right they're in Kansas City or they're somewhere else if Mario doesn't stand up."
As the Governor of Pennsylvania Corbett has to be sure to root equally for teams from Pittsburgh and Philadelphia.
But as Colin found out, Gov. Corbett is sure to remind his staff that more trophies come out of Pittsburgh than their across state rivals.
Gov. Corbett told Colin "My Lt. Governor is from Philadelphia, but I remind him that Pittsburgh has more national or world championships than Philadelphia does."
