Police To Check Door Lock After Girl Wanders From Home
NORTH SIDE (KDKA) – Police are investigating after a little girl was found wandering alone on the North Side.
According to police, she was found all alone, riding a pink scooter on Brighton Road. The little girl was found about seven or eight blocks from her home.
She was not wearing a coat and couldn't tell officers where she lived.
She was taken to the police station where her father, Marcus Lewis, arrived Tuesday afternoon.
Lewis said he was sleeping and the girl got out because of a faulty lock. The girl's mother, who was at work, came to pick up the child from the police station.
Police say they are going to check the lock to see if it is faulty.
Police are considering filing child endangerment charges.
