Get Marty: Family Pleads For Action To Repair Broken Utility Pole With High Voltage Lines
BALDWIN (KDKA) -- A Baldwin/Whitehall family reached their breaking point in a battle with three utility companies. That's when they reached out to Get Marty for help.
"I'm angry. I'm frustrated. I'm scared," says Cathy Simon.
Cathy had a busted telephone pole carrying high voltage lines hanging over her backyard. She worried that if it snapped off, her family could be hurt.
"It's dangerous. It's very dangerous," says Cathy.
She tells KDKA she tried for five months to get Verizon, Comcast and Duquesne Light to fix the pole.
"I placed dozens of phone calls. They made promises. They did a little work. They never replaced the dangerous pole," says Cathy.
That's when she called Get Marty.
"People said, 'Call Marty, call Marty," says Cathy.

We immediately put a call in to Verizon folks in Philadelphia. Within 24-hours Verizon promised to have the problem addressed.
Then, within two days Verizon, Comcast and Duquesne Light worked out a plan and fixed the dangerous pole.
Officials at all three companies worked until the job was done.
"I'm so happy it's finished. We finally feel safe in our own home. But they make it so difficult for regular folks to get action," says Cathy.
Meantime, we always recommend you email corporate representatives of the company you are having difficulty with. Most of those numbers are online.
