Gerrit Cole Torments Capitals During Game 4, Told To Calm Down
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – We all know Pittsburgh is one of, if not the best sports towns.
The fans are as passionate as they come, but there's a special brotherhood among the professional athletes in Pittsburgh. For example, it's not uncommon to see members of the Penguins attend a Steelers or Pirates game.
Call it a 'Burgh thing, but that brotherhood was on full display last night during the Penguins' 3-2 overtime win over the Washington Capitals.
Pittsburgh Pirates ace Gerrit Cole was in attendance last night and had a front row seat – right next to the Capitals' bench.
A video of Cole yelling at the Capitals and booing quickly made the rounds on social media during the game.
He even let the Caps' bench have it after a Penguins goal.
While the fans around him seemed to thoroughly enjoy Cole's intensity, an usher actually came over and told him to dial it back a bit.

But, that didn't stop Cole from doing his part to fire up the fans. In fact, he led a "Let's go Pens!" chant on the big screen.
What? You thought #BurghProud was just a Twitter thing?
We ALL live it! #LetsGoPenshttps://t.co/WYKWrBKwsU

Now, we'll never know just how much of an effect Cole had on the psyche of the Capitals. However, one this is certain. When you play one of our teams, you play the entire city.
The Penguins lead the series 3-1 and will look to eliminate the Capitals in Game 5 on Saturday.
