George Washington Stops By Heinz History Center
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – The nation's first president stopped by the Heinz History Center Sunday afternoon.
Well, it wasn't actually the man famous for chopping down the Cherry Tree.
However, just in time for Presidents' Day, a George Washington re-enactor spoke about Washington's early military years spent fighting for the British during the French and Indian War.
It was part of the History Center' speaker series.
"I think the great thing about having people here like me, that are in person and are doing this -- that are portraying these people, helps bring history alive," said actor Brian Cunning, who played George Washington.
An Abe Lincoln re-enactor was also part of the exhibit.
