SOUTH UNION TOWNSHIP (KDKA) -- A 94-year-old Fayette County man is accused of inappropriately touching two women and exposing himself at a rehabilitation center.

According to police, the incidents happened between July 23-28 at the Uniontown Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center in South Union Township.

George Massimini, a volunteer, allegedly exposed himself to an 81-year-old woman in addition to touching her inappropriately.

He is also accused of touching a 66-year-old woman.

"Mr. Massimini was observed inappropriately touching patients at the facility, and then touching himself," said Tpr. Robert Broadwater, of Pennsylvania State Police. "These acts were performed on them without their consent."

Officials say Massimini has been volunteering at the facility for years.

"He was there for eight years. He's a certified nursing assistant," Tpr. Broadwater said.

Massimini's nephew, Mark Yakapovich, is questioning the veracity of the accusations against his uncle.

"This is totally out of character for Uncle George. He doesn't miss church. I just can't believe what I heard," Yakapovich said. "I don't think that Uncle George is suffering from any kind of mental issues. You need to look at the other people in the home. Are they in their right mind?"

But state police say they believe the claims are legitimate and have not ruled out the possibility of other potential alleged victims.

"It is unusual to see a 94-year-old committing acts like this, 'cause we're usually called for someone committing acts on an elderly patient, so to have that, it's kind of shocking to us," Tpr. Broadwater said.

Massimini is facing charges of indecent assault and indecent exposure. He is free pending his preliminary hearing.
