Gas Prices Jump More Than 40 Cents In A Month
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Western Pennsylvania gas consumers are continuing to pay more and more at the pump.
It was announced Tuesday that drivers in western Pennsylvania are paying 6 cents more this week – with an average price of $3.84 per gallon.
That's more than the national average of $3.782 – which is a 43.5 increase over the last month.
Rising crude oil prices are only somewhat to blame for the jump. AAA in Pittsburgh says the jump is primarily a result of refinery maintenance issues, meaning less gas is being produced.
