Furry Tails: Tiger & Champ Are Searching For Good Homes
Are you looking to bring a pet into your home? Local animal shelters are a great place to find a furry companion. So, as part of Furry Tails, I'll be doing an ongoing feature on adoptable pets from local animal shelters once a week. If you have room in your heart and are looking to bring a lovable ball of fur into your home, maybe one of these guys is meant to be a part of your family!

Tiger
Animal Friends
Handsome, strong and independent, Tiger needs a forever home with lots of love, some structure, but also, time to play and run around!
Animal Friends says:
"Tiger is an independent fellow whose favorite activities are playing with squeaky toys and catching tennis balls!
"Upon his arrival at the shelter, Tiger was extremely aloof with people; however, he is coming out of his shell and shows signs of affection when given appropriate attention.
"Tiger is very treat-motivated and responds well to training when using tasty rewards. His adoptive family needs to commit to continued use of positive reinforcement to develop Tiger's leash manners and other desirable behaviors.
"Because Tiger is such a strong guy and has a rough style of play, his forever home should not include children younger than sixteen."

Champ
Animal Rescue League
Champ is a handsome pup who loves to play, go for walks and also enjoys a good scratch behind the ears! He's looking for a loving family to call his own.
The Animal Rescue League says:
"Meet Champ...a very sweet and playful 1-year-old Shepherd mix. Champ has some training under his belt...he already knows "sit," "paw," and "down." He walks fairly well on a leash. He'll pull a bit at first, but then settles down after a while. Some additional training on this would be helpful. He's a quick learner, so it shouldn't be too difficult for him to catch on to the concept of loose leash walking.
"When he's out in the dog run, he is an energetic boy. He likes to run around, and enjoys playing with rope toys. He's also very affectionate, and will lean up against you to be petted and get scratched behind the ears.
"If you're looking for a smart, playful and friendly dog, Champ is the guy for you! Stop by the shelter to meet him and see for yourself what a wonderful dog he is."
