Furry Tails: Searching For A Forever Home (9/30)

Are you looking to bring a pet into your home? Local animal shelters are a great place to find a furry companion. So, as part of Furry Tails, I'll be doing an ongoing feature on adoptable pets from local animal shelters once a week. If you have room in your heart and are looking to bring a lovable ball of fur into your home, maybe one of these guys is meant to be a part of your family!

Daisy

Western Pennsylvania Humane Society

Meet Daisy! This lovable, sweet girl's tail is always wagging. She's currently waiting at the Western Pa. Humane Society for a forever family to come and welcome her into their home.

The Western Pa. Humane Society says:
"Three words to best describe my personality would be...Lively, Friendly, and Happy. My ideal day would consist of going for daily walks. I love walks, and walk very well on leash.

"I am a happy girl whose tail is always wagging. I should do well in a family home with an active lifestyle. I am dog-friendly. Please, know that if you have another dog in the home you will need to bring your dog in for a mandatory meet and greet. If you think I am the girl for you. Come to the shelter and meet me today."

Dakota

Animal Friends

Meet Dakota! If you're looking to bring a playful, loving, laid back and very cool cat to your home, this guy just might be the one for you! He's currently waiting at Animal Friends for his forever home.

Animal Friends says:
"Before coming to Animal Friends, Dakota spent almost a month in a foster home. While he was there, he lived with and liked, four other cats. His foster mom even described him as a perfect cat! He is friendly, curious and an amazingly playful guy.

"He uses his litter box all of the time. But he can't squat to urinate because of some arthritis in his hips, so in his foster home, he had a box with high sides. We'll show you how easy it is to make one from a dollar store plastic container.

"Dakota is afraid of the vacuum cleaner, but other than that, he's a very laid back cat. He loves to be petted all over, even his belly. He is affectionate, vocal, is fine with having his nails trimmed and loves to be brushed. His favorite toys are the laser bug and fuzzy mice. He's rather amusing with his fuzzy mice. He always cries when playing with them! He's a sweet, loyal boy. With just a little bit of attention, he will love and follow you no matter where you go. Dakota is a sweet "no frills, no maintenance" cat.

"Dakota does have a medical condition, though: megacolon, a condition which causes constipation. With a good diet, which you can buy at cost from Animal Friends for the rest of his life, Dakota plans on loving someone for a long, long time to come. Is that someone you?"
