Furry Tails: Searching For A Forever Home (9/21)
Are you looking to bring a pet into your home? Local animal shelters are a great place to find a furry companion. So, as part of Furry Tails, I'll be doing an ongoing feature on adoptable pets from local animal shelters once a week. If you have room in your heart and are looking to bring a lovable ball of fur into your home, maybe one of these guys is meant to be a part of your family!
Blue
Animal Friends
He's had some tough obstacles to overcome, but now Blue is waiting patiently at Animal Friends for a special forever family to love. This lovable pup has been though training and is ready to please!
Animal Friends says:
Blue is a handsome 5-year-old American Pit Bull Terrier. When he is on leash, he may be the most well-trained dog at Animal Friends. His exceptional and impressive "watch me," "sit," "leave it," and "down" skills are due to intensive training efforts by a dedicated team of volunteers. Through seven months of rehabilitation, Blue learned to love and trust people. Today, he loves and is loved by so many volunteers and staff members! This is remarkable because he was rescued from a terrible situation. His bleak past caused an initial distrust of both humans and other dogs. Adopters who fall in love with Blue's lovable, cuddly, kissable personality will need to make a commitment to keep him and other dogs he may encounter safe. Blue is looking for a family who has experience with Pit Bulls or other bully breeds, and who will continue to explore his appetite for positive reinforcement training. We would like to work with the person or family who adopts him to ensure that his placement will be a loving, lifelong success. Blue is sure to amaze his new family with his loving nature, his trust, and his willingness to please.
If you are interested in Blue, you can speak to an Adoption Counselor about the special adoption process for this dog or call Animal Friends at 412-847-7002 ext. 1.

Little Man
Western Pennsylvania Humane Society
Sweet and loving, Manny – as they refer to him at the Western Pa. Humane Society – has been waiting a while to find his forever home. His previous owner brought him to the shelter because they had no time for him. Little Man is calm and just loves a lot of attention!
Western Pa. Humane Society says:
My name is Little Man! I'm a nice calm boy! I should do well in any type of home that has my breed knowledge. I love to get tons of attention. I may do well with other dogs, so please know that if you have another dog in the home you will need to bring them in for a mandatory meet and greet prior to adoption. I'm not really much of a fan of kitty cats, so I would like to live in a home without them please! I am recommended for obedience training classes. Also, my adopter MUST speak with a vet PRIOR to adoption as I need to be on a medication for the rest of my life to help my skin. Call the shelter to schedule a meet and greet with me today! I sure would like to meet you!

Kevin
Animal Rescue League
Kevin came to the Animal Rescue League as a stray, and is now waiting for a caring family to take him in and give him lots of love. This cute pup is active, but also loves to settle in and be petted.
Animal Rescue League says:
"Kevin is an active young dog who is happy to do whatever he is asked to do. He loves to play, take a walk or just sit and be petted. He has a beautiful, brindle coat and the cutest face! He came on the Animal Control truck as a stray, so we are getting to know him a bit better each day. So far, he has been a complete joy to have around. He does need some leash training and maybe some basic obedience would be helpful."
If you are interested in Kevin, please contact his friend Barb at at the Animal Rescue League at this email: bcolker@comcast.net.
