Furry Tails: Searching For A Forever Home (2/1)
Are you looking to bring a pet into your home? Local animal shelters are a great place to find a furry companion. So, as part of Furry Tails, I'll be doing an ongoing feature on adoptable pets from local animal shelters once a week. If you have room in your heart and are looking to bring a lovable ball of fur into your home, maybe one of these guys is meant to be a part of your family!
Spumone
Animal Rescue League
Sweet like his name suggests, Spumone is looking for a loving forever family that will keep him active and on-the-go! This pup's got a good sniffer and is always ready to play.
Animal Rescue League says:
"Spumone is a sweet treat of a dog! He is about 2-years-old and weighs 57 pounds. He was transferred in from another shelter to the ARL so he could have a better shot at finding his forever home. Spumone is very active and would be happy to join his owner for jogs and hikes, especially if there's something interesting to sniff. He rated a "Go-Getter" on the ASPCA's Meet Your Match program, which tells us he's very energetic and always excited about the world around him. This also means he's not picky about toys. Give Spumone a ball, rope, or squeaky toy and he will be over the moon! He'll reward you with the best happy wiggle dance in the world.
"Spumone knows "sit" and "down" already. He is good at focusing on people and eager to please, so training should be a breeze! This friendly canine would be a great match for a family. He adores children and is very gentle with them. He is also excellent with other dogs so would be happy to join a home with a canine friend. The ARL, of course, requires doggie meet and greets if there is another dog in the home so make sure to bring your dog (if you have one) with you. Come meet Spumone soon so he can melt your heart!"
Spumone is neutered, up-to-date on his vaccinations, and microchipped.

Gooseberry
Animal Friends
Gooseberry is looking for a loving, relaxed forever home where she will be pampered and cared for after some hardships at the start her life. This kitty loves bird-watching and treats, and is ready for a good home.

Animal Friends says:
"Poor Gooseberry had a rough start. She was rescued from a hoarding situation where she spent most of her life in a crate. When she arrived at Animal Friends, Gooseberry was very dirty, had an upper respiratory infection and her paw pads were burned from being constantly soaked in urine. She was sick and in pain.
"One can easily understand why it's hard for Gooseberry to trust people now. Our humane officers found her to be very fearful and nervous. She spent her first several weeks here recovering from illness.
"Now, it's time for her to be loved. She has warmed up to the volunteers who are doting on her with TLC. She responds well to treats and has begun to associate them with nice people. She lived with so many other cats before that now she'd definitely prefer to be an only princess in a home. She wants to be pampered as an only child...no other pets or small children. She'd love to have a windowsill to watch the birds, enough food in her stomach and a person who loves her.
"Gooseberry is looking for her forever home. Could it be yours?"
Gooseberry has been spayed, vaccinated and microchipped.
