Furry Tails: Searching For A Forever Home (1/26)
Are you looking to bring a pet into your home? Local animal shelters are a great place to find a furry companion. So, as part of Furry Tails, I'll be doing an ongoing feature on adoptable pets from local animal shelters once a week. If you have room in your heart and are looking to bring a lovable ball of fur into your home, maybe one of these guys is meant to be a part of your family!
Sarver
Animal Rescue League
Looking for a pet with lots of heart and an explorer's spirit? Then, Sarver might just be the kitty for you! He's loving, playful and a big ball of energy!
Animal Rescue League says:
"Meet Sarver! Sarver is an active 18-month-old guy who loves to play with his humans. He enjoys other cats who will play with him and will tolerate smaller dogs but will hold his ground.
"Sarver loves hard and plays hard - sometimes a little too hard. We're working on his manners - he's just a big kitten who doesn't know his own strength and who gets a bit carried away at times. Life is just so much fun! He does have a lot of energy and loves to run and play and explore!
"Sarver will need a special adopter with a big heart and the financial means to take care of his medical condition. Sarver has Feline Urinary Tract Disease (FLUTD) and must be on a special diet to limit the blood in his urine and to prevent symptoms of FLUTD. Currently, he is on Science Diet dry c/d cat, which is managing his condition quite well. He will need regular check-ups at the vet to make sure this continues.
"If you think this handsome, affectionate boy would be a good fit for your household, do stop by the shelter soon to meet him!"
Sarver is neutered, up-to-date on his vaccinations, and microchipped.
For more information on Sarver, and other adoptable dogs, cats, rabbits, and small animals, visit www.animalrescue.org or call 412-661-6452 ext 215. The Animal Rescue League is located at 6620 Hamilton Avenue in Pittsburgh, Pa., and is open daily.

Animal Friends says:
"Brad Pitt is a dashing Bull Dog-Beagle mix looking for a home that will help heal his broken past. Brad Pitt originally came to us as a stray in December 2012 covered in pepper spray. He was scared and nervous. We cleaned him up and got him comfortable in a warm kennel. Brad was here for a few months and adopted into a loving home. Upon adopting him, the family was forced to return Brad because the neighborhood was against having a bully mix in the subdivision. This was a very sad return as they loved him and he was perfect in their house.
"Brad was again ready for a new home and he was adopted. However, Brad ended up at our door without a collar and confused. We called the adopters and they had sold him to another person with a criminal record. Luckily, he was able to get back into our care.
"Brad Pitt has been with us for many months now. Right now he is living in a foster home. The foster home has said nothing but great things. He is housebroken, a cuddle bug and loves to chew on Bully-Sticks. Brad enjoys watching movies and playing board games. He adores playing in the snow and chasing after birds. Brad does well in a crate while he is alone. He can pull during walks; however, he is working on loose leash walking.
"We feel that Brad would do well in a home with all age children. He would do best in a home as the only animal. Brad is a great ambassador for his breed. He is very playful and loves to be around people. He even likes hugs! We'd like him to go to a home where he could get plenty of exercise and be active with his family. Brad had a rough start in life, but we're sure he'd love fill the role as top dog in your home. Brad is a great dog looking for a forever home - Could it be yours?
"And someone believes in him so much, that they have sponsored his adoption! He is truly priceless."
Brad Pitt has been neutered, vaccinated and microchipped.
