Furry Tails: Searching For A Forever Home (12/15)
Are you looking to bring a pet into your home? Local animal shelters are a great place to find a furry companion. So, as part of Furry Tails, I'll be doing an ongoing feature on adoptable pets from local animal shelters once a week. If you have room in your heart and are looking to bring a lovable ball of fur into your home, maybe one of these guys is meant to be a part of your family!
Kung Pao, Patrick, Lurch, Caterpillar, Mackenzie & Phyllis
Animal Friends
If you're looking to bring a kitty into your home, there are six very special cats waiting for forever families at Animal Friends!
Animal Friends says:
"Our Fabulous FIVe are all waiting for their forever homes!"
"Kung Pao, Patrick, Lurch, Caterpillar, Mackenzie and Phyllis (we know, that's six cats, but there's always room for another cat, right?) are wonderful cats that are patiently waiting for their forever families to come and find them. The Fab FIVe have one thing in common: they are all FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus) positive."
"FIV or Feline Immunodeficiency Virus is slow-acting virus that is similar to its human counterpart, HIV. FIV is not contagious to humans. FIV is spread between cats through body fluids."
"FIV positive cats can live full and fulfilling lives. Kung Pao, for example, is an elegant girl who gets along well with other cats and might even enjoy some canine company. Patrick has a silly side. At play, he likes to clown around on the cat tree in the FIV free-roam room and survey his kingdom from the very top of the tree. Mackenzie is a strikingly pretty and friendly cat who is just waiting for you to come and take her home."

Cha Cha & Pretty Girl
Animal Rescue League
Looking for two playful pups to complete your family? Then, Cha Cha and Pretty Girl might just be furry friends you're looking for!
Animal Rescue League says:
"Meet Cha Cha and Pretty Girl, two 5 year old Akitas that found their way to the shelter as strays. These two pups are not the typical Akitas- they act more like labs! Both of them rated as "Goofballs" on the ASPCA's Meet Your Match exam, which makes sense as they are both socially motivated and love people. Cha Cha LOVES rope toys and likes to play, play, play with his sister! He is also eager to learn and attentive to treat-based training. He settled quietly in a crate when tested, too. Pretty Girl is a little more shy and is still learning how to play with toys. She is fairly treat-responsive and walks pretty well on leash, too.
"We'd love these two handsome Akitas to stay together, but they have shown that they are fine if separated, too, so could go to different homes. They will require continued socialization, training, and exercise that is somewhat specific to their breed so they are looking for a home with no small children and with someone with breed experience.
Pretty Girl is spayed, up-to-date on her vaccinations and microchipped. Cha Cha is neutered, up-to-date on his vaccinations and microchipped.
